About

I have a Masters in Applied Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Jansen Newman Institute, Sydney and I am a member of Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia: PACFA Reg. 27071.

My background

The decision to become a psychotherapist some years ago felt like a convergence of the many facets of my past professional life, drawing together my interests and skills into one passion: working with people and their stories to enable insight, growth, freedom and meaning.

Many moons ago I studied psychology and english literature at university. I then went to acting school and worked in theatre. I completed a Masters in writing and have worked as an editor and a writer. I am also a teacher, a yoga practitioner and a mother.

My practice

My approach to psychotherapy and counselling is humanistic, drawing particularly on existential, psychodynamic and somatic frameworks. My practice is informed by the ever-evolving understanding of the human psyche, the findings of neuroscience and how trauma manifests for years and sometimes generations. At the heart of my work is the relationship between therapist and client.
